Precise Testing Solution for IGBT: ADG+ series High-Power Programmable DC Power Supply

The Key Factor of Power Conversion: IGBT Drives the Modern Life

IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) is a power-switching component with high input impedance, low voltage drop, and high voltage tolerance. These components are widely used across applications that need power conversion, such as variable-frequency air conditioners, industrial inverters, renewable energy, railway transportation, EVs, etc.
The Ideal Instrument for IGBT Testing: ADG+ Series Programmable DC Power Supply
IGBT testing is critical due to the component's extensive use across various applications. Preen’s ADG+ series provides robust solutions, ensuring customers can meet their testing requirements with precision and reliability.
The following are 2 real testing requirements from our customers.
The first test requirement is to verify if the IGBT’s nominal values meet specifications under 15V and 0-1200A conditions. Using the ADG+ series in CC mode, users can simulate a short-circuit with the IGBT. With a capacity of up to 2000V and 0-2500A, the ADG+ series meets these requirements effectively. Additionally, parameters like 15V and 0-1200A can be easily set via the Preen Program, simplifying the process.
The second verification focuses on temperature, as outlined in IEC 60747-9:2007, IGBTs should indicate the operating temperatures of the environment, IGBT case, and junction. The ADG+ series can perform temperature rise tests by adjusting current to ensure IGBT performance matches datasheet specifications.
During testing, our client realized the required current was higher than expected. However, with the ADG+ series’ parallel connection feature for easy capacity expansion, we successfully assisted in selecting the ideal IGBT for their R&D needs.
Preen Provides Various Testing Solutions
The ADG+ series high-power programmable DC power supply offers low ripple, high precision, and fast response. Max 300kW per unit, expandable up to 1800kW, with three output modes: CV, CC, and CP. Its 7-inch touchscreen and rotary knob provide intuitive operation and a clear measurement display. Additionally, the complimentary Preen Program remote control software enhances testing efficiency. These features make the ADG+ series ideal not only for IGBT testing but also for applications in solar inverters, EVs, lithium batteries, energy storage, and laboratory use.
